David L. Holmes is a religious historian with degrees from Michigan State University, Columbia University, and Princeton, with studies at Duke Divinity School. He is a US Army and Army Reserve veteran. He is the author of several books dealing with religious history, including The Religion of the Founding Fathers (2002), The Faiths of the Founding Fathers (2006), A Brief History of the Episcopal Church (1993), and The Faiths of the Postwar Presidents (2012), as well as extensive journal articles. An avid lecturer, he has delivered talks throughout Virginia and other national locations. He was a William & Mary faculty member from 1968 until his retirement in 2013, as well as a visiting professor at the University of Virginia. Holding degrees from the University of Kentucky and the University of California, Davis, Susan Williamson is a former newspaper editor, college adjunct, and extension agent. A native of Pennsylvania, she currently lives in Williamsburg, Virginia, and works as a freelance writer, editor, novelist, and riding instructor.
