Kim Messier and Pat Messier are independent researchers and authors of three books about southwestern and Native American art history: Hopi & Pueblo Tiles: An Illustrated History (2007), Reassessing Hallmarks of Native Southwest Jewelry: Artists, Traders, Guilds, and the Government (2014), and Garden of the Gods Trading Post: Images of America (2019). They have more than 70 years of combined experience researching and collecting Native American art. Over the past 25 years, they worked together to give public presentations on southwestern and Native American history and art topics at museums and libraries in the Southwest.
