I am saddened to forward you the news that Bob Harper passed away on July 6. Bob’s biographer, Bill Cullen, said:
He had gone through a couple of weeks of real decline, and he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Thank you so much for sending Bob that advance copy of Flying Fortress Gunner. He certainly got a kick out of receiving it. According to his two children, Jim and Julie, Bob was able to thumb through the book for a few days before passing. It brought a smile to his face, and he kept the book with him next to his bed.
